THE MATCHA STROKE TEST

NOT EVERY MATCHA IS THE SAME

What is the reason to conduct a Matcha Stroke Test? On the European Market you can find several products that are called Matcha, but actually don’t contain any Matcha. The term Matcha is not officially protected. Thus, there is also no definition of which characteristics a product should have, in order to be allowed to be named Matcha. Therefore, it is our special concern to inform about the quality differences in the Matcha category.

Again and again low – quality, industrially ground tees with the designation “Matcha” are entering the market. Officially, a product called “Matcha” does not even have to contain green tea! These kind of comingled products, the origin of which cannot be retraced, we call “Fake Matcha”.

With the help of the Matcha Stroke test, you can easily test the quality of your Matcha product by yourself. High quality Matcha can already be distinguished by its bright, emerald – green color. A yellowish or brownish color, however, is an indicator that the product quality is not convincing. In the latter cases, the raw material the Matcha is made of is not pure, noble Tencha.
