Accessibility Statement

At AIYA Europe, we are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. Although aiya-europe.com is a B2B information platform and does not include an online shop, we still adhere to the digital accessibility requirements of the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz – BaFG) and the European Accessibility Act (Directive EU 2019/882). 

Our Accessibility Commitments

We have implemented a range of measures to make our content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust in accordance with WCAG 2.2 guidelines:

  • Full keyboard navigation (Tab, arrow keys, Enter, Esc, Space)
  • All images include alternative text in English and German
  • Forms include clear labels, ARIA attributes, and accessible error messages
  • All interactive elements and content areas include proper ARIA roles and landmarks
  • Logical focus order and “Skip to main content” functionality
  • Readable typography, sufficient contrast, and responsive design
  • The site has been tested using VoiceOver on macOS
  • All documents and downloads (e.g. PDFs, catalogues) are accessible or include plain-text equivalents

Multi-Sensory Content Delivery

In line with §4 of the Austrian Accessibility Act, all essential content and interactions on this website are perceivable via multiple sensory channels, including:

  • Text-based descriptions of processes and product information
  • Visual and textual error messages (not color-only)
  • Accessible navigation menus and informational sections
  • No reliance on visual-only cues for critical functions

Manual Accessibility Testing

In June 2025, we conducted a manual accessibility audit including:

  • Review against the WCAG 2.2 checklist up to 2.5.8
  • Complete keyboard-only navigation testing
  • Testing with VoiceOver screen reader on macOS
  • Evaluation of informational forms, document downloads, and navigation flows

Ongoing Review & Documentation

In compliance with §18 BaFG, AIYA Europe will:

  • Reassess digital accessibility at least every five years
  • Maintain documentation for each assessment for a minimum of 5 years
  • Log all known updates, changes, or improvements related to accessibility

Our most recent review was conducted in June 2025. The next scheduled audit is planned for June 2026, or earlier in the event of major design or content updates.

Legal Basis

This Accessibility Statement is based on the following legal and technical frameworks:

  • Barrierefreiheitsgesetz (BaFG) – Austrian Accessibility Act, BGBl. I Nr. 76/2023
  • Directive (EU) 2019/882 – Accessibility requirements for products and services
  • Annex I & II of the Directive – technical standards and non-binding examples
  • WCAG 2.2 – Web Content Accessibility Guidelines as referenced by EU standards

Exceptions and Proportionality

At this time, AIYA Europe does not claim any exception under §§ 17–18 BaFG.
If accessibility modifications were to result in a fundamental change of purpose or impose a disproportionate burden, we would:

  • Conduct an internal assessment
  • Document the reasons for the exemption
  • Explore alternative accessible solutions where possible
